For this private client the challenge was to create two new housing solutions, splitting a former duplex apartment in the fascinating area of Porta Venezia in Milan.
The lower floor has been turned in a three-roomed flat with eat-in kitchen and two bathrooms. Warm colors highlight the common areas where different materials and textures, such as Mutina wall tiles and bamboo floor, are enriched by custom made furniture. Bathrooms’ surfaces are covered with deep blue glossy ceramic tiles, while bedrooms walls are marked by light greenish natural painting.
The second phase of the project saw the creation of an attic with attention to space partitions and the building of new skylights. A warm wood surface cover most of the floor, while a tiny kitchen corner is covered with neutral tone tiles, separated from the living room by a printed glass sliding panel. The bedroom features a complete custom made furniture where oak playwood cabinets are framed by different shades of green.
